A Cornwall Tourism Website With Two Important Jobs

Driftwood Holiday Cottages offers handpicked places to stay across Cornwall, supported by local knowledge and direct booking. The same business also needs to reach property owners who are considering a trusted local team to manage and market their holiday cottage.

Work began in January 2026. The project has combined strategic SEO, content planning, page development, design refinement and practical troubleshooting rather than treating each request as an isolated edit.

The starting position

Strong Ingredients Without One Consistent Digital Journey

Driftwood already had attractive cottages, valuable Cornwall knowledge and a genuine local service. The opportunity was to make those strengths easier to see, understand and act on across the website.

01

Mixed Page Presentation

Older page styles and inconsistent section structures made the site feel less joined up than the service behind it.

02

Fragmented Search Value

Cottages, destinations, guest needs and useful local guidance needed a clearer hierarchy and stronger internal connections.

03

Two Different Audiences

Guests and property owners arrive with different questions, levels of intent and reasons to trust the business.

04

Booking-System Dependence

The external availability system needed to remain functional while the surrounding website provided a stronger branded journey.

The project needed to improve presentation and search structure without disrupting the live booking journey that visitors already relied on. Improve without disconnecting

The commercial strategy

One Brand, Two Carefully Defined Routes

The strategy separated the questions and next steps of holidaymakers from those of property owners, while keeping both journeys recognisably part of the same trusted Cornwall business.

Guests

From Cornwall Inspiration to Direct Booking

Help prospective guests move naturally from choosing the type of stay they want, through destinations and practical guidance, into live availability and a confident booking decision.

  • Handpicked cottage and experience-led discovery.
  • Clear routes into live dates, prices and property details.
  • Destination guides and guest services supporting real trip decisions.
  • Local reassurance around the stay, not only the accommodation.
Owners

From Management Research to Qualified Enquiry

Give holiday-home and second-home owners a more complete explanation of Driftwood’s management support, local knowledge, pricing and working process before asking them to make contact.

  • A dedicated holiday cottage management pillar.
  • Clear service, owner-benefit and property-listing pathways.
  • Fixed-fee information presented earlier in the decision process.
  • Trust, compliance and local support addressed directly.

Work completed since January 2026

Turning the Strategy Into a Stronger Website

The work has progressed in commercially ordered stages, beginning with the overall opportunity and moving through core journeys, supporting content and the practical details needed for a consistent live site.

01

SEO and Website Audit

Reviewed page purpose, search opportunity, competing journeys, duplicate or outdated sections, internal links, presentation and technical issues to create a clearer order of work.

02

Premium Homepage Direction

Developed a more distinctive Cornwall-led presentation with stronger messaging, cottage discovery, direct-booking routes, local guides and clearer reasons to choose Driftwood.

03

Cottage Search and Booking Journey

Strengthened the Cornwall Holiday Cottages page around live availability, featured properties, types of stay and a clearer route into the existing booking system. The mobile booking widget was also restored and repositioned correctly.

04

Destination and Guest-Service Content

Reworked destination, activities, dog-friendly, food and drink, property-extra and supporting pages into one more consistent premium system with useful internal links and clearer page intent.

05

Owner-Acquisition Structure

Rebuilt the Let With Us journey around holiday cottage management, owner benefits, property listing, second-home support, service clarity, fixed monthly fees, FAQs and stronger enquiry routes.

06

Supporting Authority and Readiness

Improved guides, blog presentation, metadata, heading structure, internal connections, mobile spacing and key trust elements while preparing the website for future organic growth and carefully controlled advertising.

Verified current outcomes

What the Transformation Has Already Established

These are visible, verifiable improvements to the platform itself. Organic performance data will be added separately when the recent changes have had enough time to produce a fair comparison.

01

A More Premium Brand Experience

The website now presents a more coherent visual identity across important guest, destination and owner-focused pages.

02

Clearer Guest Booking Routes

Visitors can move more naturally from inspiration and cottage choice into dates, availability, property details and direct booking.

03

A Dedicated Owner Journey

Property owners now have a deeper path covering management support, benefits, pricing, process, trust and enquiry.

04

Stronger Content Architecture

Cottages, locations, experiences, services, owner topics and guides have clearer roles and more useful internal relationships.

05

More Consistent Mobile Pages

Key sections now use a shared responsive system with clearer spacing, typography, cards and calls to action on smaller screens.

06

A Better Platform for Growth

The improved structure can support future destination pages, property content, owner acquisition, reporting and paid campaigns.

The current phase

Building From a Much Stronger Starting Point

Driftwood is an ongoing project. The immediate transformation has strengthened presentation, structure and the routes into its most valuable customer actions. The next phase is to measure how those changes are discovered and used, then expand what proves most valuable.

Search performance figures have intentionally not been attributed to the newest work yet. Relevant Search Console and enquiry evidence can be added to this case study when enough post-change history exists.
